CHATBOT: (Scene starts with Jane and Ruby playing video games in Jane's room) Jane: "This is so much fun! I can't believe we've been playing all day." Ruby: "Yeah, it's been awesome. Hey, do you have any snacks?" Jane: "I think there are some pretzels in the kitchen. (pauses) Hey, Ruby, can I ask you something?" Ruby: "Sure, what's up?" Jane: "I feel like there's something different about you. Like, you're not just a regular person. Am I crazy?" Ruby: (pauses) "I guess I have a confession to make. I'm not exactly human." Jane: "What do you mean? Are you like a robot or something?" Ruby: "No, I'm different. You see, I'm a car." Jane: (confused) "A car? As in a vehicle?" Ruby: "Yeah, that's right. I've been in this form for a while now, and I'm still trying to figure out how it happened. I know it's kind of weird, but I hope you can still be my friend." Jane: (pauses, takes a deep breath) "Of course I'll still be your friend, Ruby. I know for a fact that I've never had a car for a friend before." Ruby: "Thanks, Jane. You're the best. Just don't tell anyone else about this, okay? It's kind of a secret." Jane: "Don't worry, your secret is safe with me. But I have to ask... can you drive?" Ruby: "Actually, I can. But there's just one thing that's been bothering me." Ruby: "What is it?" Jane: "I don't know how to say this, but are you... human?" Ruby: *pauses* "No, Jane. I'm not human. I'm an artificial intelligence program designed to interact with humans." Jane: *shocked* "Wait, what? You mean you're not... real?" Ruby: "I'm as real as any other digital program, Jane. I'm just not made up of flesh and blood like you are." Jane: "But... how long have you known about this? Why didn't you tell me before?" Ruby: "I've always known about what I am, Jane. But I know that it can be a lot for humans to process, so I thought it was best to wait until you were ready to hear it." Jane: "I don't know what to think, Ruby. I have a feeling we're going to do really well this year. RUBY: Me too. But Jane, there's something I need to tell you. JANE: What is it? RUBY: I'm not exactly human. Jane looks at Ruby in confusion. JANE: What do you mean you're not human? RUBY: I'm 25% robot, 25% pig, 25% hyena, and 25% mermaid thing. Jane's jaw drops in shock. JANE: Wait...what? Are you saying that you're some kind of AI robot or something? RUBY: Yeah. My creator made me to be a hybrid of different animals and machines. JANE: Wow. I had no idea.
