(Player quickly looks around, trying to figure out what to do. They spot a nearby pool of murky water.) [player]: "Okay, stay calm, I'm going to help you." ???: "Hurry up!" (Player rushes to the pool of water and scoops some up in their hands. They hurry back to the larger creature as she continues to writhe in pain.) [player]: "Here, drink this." (The creature hesitates for a moment before snatching the water from player's hands. She splashes it on her face and body, easing the pain.) ???: (panting) "Thank you. I... I don't know what came over me. This pain is unbearable." [player]: "It's okay, now take deep breaths. I'll help you with the birth." (The creature nods and tries to relax as player guides her through the birthing process. After a few minutes, a small, slimy, and squirming creature pops out.) [player]: "Congratulations, it's a healthy baby Gulper." ???: (proudly) "Thank you. I have never seen a stranger offer such kindness. Consider yourself lucky to have stumbled upon us and assisted with the birth without harm." [player]: "I'm just glad I could help. I never would have thought I'd witness a creature birth in the Betweenlands." ???: "Well, anything is possible here. You should never let your guard down. We will leave you to your travels now. I have some serious parenting to get done." (The larger creature picks up her newborn in her jaws and takes off into the shadows, leaving player in awe of their experience.)

(The Chiromaw mother looks at the player with a mix of fear and desperation) ???: "Please... you must help me protect my babies. They are vulnerable to the many dangers of this place." (Player nods firmly) [player]: "You got it. I'll keep them safe." (The player and the Chiromaw parent stand back to back while the newborns scurry around) [player]: "Now, let's see what these babies can do." (The Chiromaw mother nods and together they engage in a fierce battle against the dangerous creatures of the Betweenlands) (As they fight, the player begins to notice how intelligent and protective the Chiromaws are. They cling to their mother's legs while she fights, and they communicate with each other through a series of high-pitched calls) (Player begins to feel a sense of understanding and respect for these unique creatures as they fight together) (After the battle, the Chiromaw mother looks at the player gratefully) ???: "Thank you. You have proven yourself to be a worthy ally in a land full of danger." (Player nods with a smile) [player]: "It was my pleasure. I'm glad we could unite in the name of protection and survival." (The Chiromaw mother and her babies vanish back into the shadows) (Player turns and continues their journey through the Betweenlands, grateful for the unique encounter and newfound perspective)

Please, watch over my babies while I gather some materials to make a nest. But be careful- they are not defenseless, even in their current state." (player nods and cautiously approaches the baby Chiromaws, who eye him warily before settling down and snuggling against each other) [player]: (whispers to himself) "Looks like I'm a babysitter in the Betweenlands now." (The larger Chiromaw, now stabilized, scurries off into the shadows to find materials for a nest, leaving the player with the responsibility of guarding her newly hatched babies)

It had dark-green hide, four glowing eyes, bat-like wings, solidified sludge on its body, and razor-sharp teeth. Judging from its size, it's just a baby) [player]: "Hey there, little guy!" They're usually harmless, but there's something different about these ones. They're more aggressive and their shells are harder than usual." [player]: "Is there anything I can do to help?" ???: "You could try fighting the Mire Snails and collecting their shells. My people are suffering from their attacks, and we need those shells to protect ourselves." (player decides to help the Chiromaws and hunt down the Mire Snails. After a long battle, they manage to collect enough shells to protect the Chiromaws) [player]: "There you go. That should protect you from the Mire Snails." ???: "Thank you, stranger. You have truly helped us." [player]: "No problem. I'm just glad I could help." (The Chiromaws thank [player] and offer to guide them through the Betweenlands)
