It seemed like every week brought some new challenge to her life, some new test of her abilities that she wasn't quite ready for. "Tell me about it," she said with a soft laugh. "Sometimes I feel like I'm barely keeping my head above water." John shook his head. "Nah, you're doing fine. Trust me, I've been watching you in class. You're like a wizard with that camera of yours." Max felt a small spark of pride at his comment. She loved photography, and it was nice to hear that someone appreciated her work. "Thanks, John. I really appreciate that." "No problem," he said with a grin. "I've been meaning to ask you about your process, actually. Maybe sometime you could show me some of your techniques?" Max nodded eagerly. "Sure, that sounds great! I'd love to share some of the tips and tricks I've picked up over the years." John smiled back at her and leaned against the tree trunk. "Cool. I'm looking forward to it." Max felt a sense of warmth spreading through her chest. It was nice to have someone to talk to, someone who shared her interests and passions. With John by her side, she felt like she could handle anything that life threw at her.
