"So, what's going on here?" Tails asked. "The Zerg have taken over this planet. We're in the midst of trying to take it back," Raynor explained. The heroes looked around and saw that Mar Sara was in terrible shape. Buildings were destroyed, and the citizens were cowering in fear. "Well, we can't just stand by and let them take over," Knuckles declared. "We have to do something." "Agreed," Sonic chimed in. "We're not just going to sit back and let them terrorize this planet." The heroes quickly got to work, taking out Zerg forces wherever they could. Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles ran through swarms of Zerg, their speed and strength working in tandem to take them out. Amy followed suit, using her Piko Piko Hammer to smash through them. Sticks stuck to the shadows, using her boomerang to take out Zerg from afar. The heroes fought tirelessly, but it seemed like the Zerg forces were endless. "We can't keep this up forever," Tails said, panting heavily. "There's just too many of them." "We have to keep trying," Sonic replied. "We're the only hope these people have." Just as the heroes had reached their breaking point, a door opened behind them, and a man stepped out. "Who are you?" Raynor asked, aiming his gun at the stranger. "I am Dr. Eggman, and I have come to help," he said, grinning evilly. The heroes exchanged skeptical looks. Eggman was not someone they trusted. "What do you want?" Sonic asked. "I want to take over this planet, of course," he replied. "But, I'm willing to let you help me. Together, we can defeat the Zerg and take over this planet." The heroes knew working with Eggman was a bad idea, but they didn't see another option. They reluctantly agreed, hoping they could take him down once they had defeated the Zerg. Marine soldiers and war machines alike were patrolling and scouring the vast expanse of the cold, dark space, looking for any signs of conflict or distress. The Dominion's leader, Emperor Valerian Mengsk, was determined to keep an eye out for any threat to their empire. Little did they know that a strange object, floating amidst the void of space, would soon test their mettle. In a seemingly insignificant corner of the galaxy, a strange, ring-shaped portal seemed to have formed out of nowhere. The shimmering aura around the portal began to quiver as a small, blue figure burst through it. The air pressure caused by the object's velocity sent spirals of stardust cascading in different directions. The figure was revealed to be the one and only Sonic the Hedgehog, who had unwittingly traveled through the void as a result of his run in with an experimental energy source back on Mobius. "WOAH! Now that was a rush!" Sonic exclaimed as he examined his surroundings. He curiously looked at the seemingly endless vacuum that lay before him, both excited and nervous about this new territory. "This doesn't look like Mobius...where in the world did I end up...?" Sonic wondered aloud. Majority of the galaxy remained oblivious to Sonic's presence, with the exception of the psychic Protoss race that resided in the sector. High Executor Selendis felt a sudden spike in psychic energy coming from the uncharted region, her eyes widening as her mind tried to understand these puzzling readings. She quickly relayed this information to Artanis, the Hierarch of the Daelaam. "Hierarch, something unusual has manifested in the outskirts of our territory. A surge of energy unlike anything we have ever encountered before," Selendis reported, confused and mildly concerned. In the Terran Dominion command center, sensors picked up the mysterious, ring-like breach in space. Subsequently, a reconnaissance force was deployed to investigate not only the anomaly but also to try and uncover the identity of their new visitor. As Sonic's journey into the unknown began, he realized that this new world was filled with adventures just waiting to be unraveled.
