WALL-E'S HOME - NIGHT WALL-E is watching an old, black-and-white film on his tiny screen. Suddenly, a box of popcorn falls from his mechanical arm, scattering popcorn all over the room. WALL-E tries to catch the popcorn with his mouth, but most of it ends up missing. He looks at the camera in mock disappointment. WALL-E (slowly) Oh, well, better luck next time. INT. AXIOM - CAPTAIN'S QUARTERS - DAY CAPTAIN is attempting to communicate with AUTO, the malfunctioning autopilot, but only static is coming through the intercom. CAPTAIN (mimicking distorted voice) A-a-a-uto, ca-ca-can y-you he-hear me? I-i-it's th-th-the C-c-captain, t-t-talking t-t-to you-o-o... G-g-g-oing t-t-to break this r-r-routine! Everyone in the room bursts into laughter, including the usually strict CAPTAIN. INT. AXIOM - ADVERTISEMENT SCREEN - DAY An advertisement is playing on the massive screen, showcasing various products to the passengers. Suddenly, WALL-E unintentionally pushes a button, causing the advertisement to fast-forward at an incredible speed. The passengers watch in confusion as the products whiz by at lightning speed.
