Step Brothers and the Hot Sisters follows the hilarious and bittersweet adventures of Brennan and Dale, who are now married to their respective love interests, Alice and Derek. The sequel takes place two years after the events of the first film. Brennan and Dale soon find themselves living under the same roof again, after Alice's two stunningly attractive sisters, Cindy and Mindy, come to live with them. The Hot Sisters, as they call themselves, are polar opposites; Cindy is a smoking hot bimbo, while Mindy is a shy, bookish type with an awkward charm. Initially, Brennan and Dale are thrilled to have the hot sisters around, as they feel like they hit the jackpot in the family department. However, their happiness is short-lived, as they soon realize that they have bitten off more than they can chew. Cindy and Mindy's presence creates tension and jealousy between Brennan and Dale's respective spouses. Alice feels threatened by Cindy's overt sexuality and her husband's fondness for her, while Derek can't keep his eyes off Mindy's curves, even in the face of his wife's disapproval. The tension culminates in a series of conflicts, misunderstandings and hilarious mishaps. It all comes to a head when Brennan and Dale challenge each other to a competition to win the affections of Cindy and Mindy. The competition starts with trivial things such as cooking and crafts, but quickly escalates into a wild night of partying and debauchery. In the end, both Brennan and Dale realize that their obsession with the Hot Sisters was foolish and that their true love lies with their respective wives. Alice and Derek forgive their husbands, and the two couples reconcile with each other. The Hot Sisters move out, with Cindy taking advantage of her newfound fame as an Instagram influencer, and Mindy enrolling in graduate school. Brennan and Dale come out of the experience a little wiser, a little more mature, but still utterly ridiculous in their shenanigans.
