When they were very young they often hid from attacks in shelters. Akari's father was a high-ranking military officer in the earth's self-defense forces. Haruto's parents died protecting Haruto and Akari during another attack. Akari came early in the morning to wake Haruto up for school and at the same time brought a cooked breakfast for Haruto.
