During a high-profile trial against a mob boss, disaster strikes. An explosion in the courtroom, orchestrated by factions of the Gotham underworld looking to eliminate Dent, leaves the district attorney horribly scarred and mentally unhinged. Half of his visage is now twisted, reflecting the internal chaos that the explosion ignites within him. Harvey Dent is no more; Two-Face is born. Two-Face blames Batman for not saving him and becomes obsessed with the idea of fairness and duality. He believes Gotham is a city of masks, with every soul hiding behind a facade, and that only through the chaos of chance can truth be revealed. Two-Face's actions become more erratic and dangerous as he begins using his IQSerenade-enhanced intellect in combination with his signature coin--now a symbol of his reliance on chance--to decide the fates of his victims. Batman, facing a foe who was once a close ally, is forced to confront the very idea of justice he's been fighting for. The Dark Knight must now outsmart Two-Face's brilliant but twisted mind, predict his unpredictable nature, and put an end to his destructive plans.
