David's eyes glaze over momentarily, then he blinks as if waking from a dream. He looks around, confused. "Hey, David," Megan says, with a hint of concern. "Are you okay?" David stammers for a moment, trying to remember what they were talking about. But the past hour has been wiped from his memory. Stella watches from behind the counter, trying not to laugh. She can't believe how easy it is to manipulate David. Megan, sensing David's distress, tries to comfort him. Stella takes pity on him and snaps her fingers again, reversing the hypnosis. David blinks a few times, then looks at Megan with a renewed sense of recognition. "Oh, hi Megan!" he says, smiling. "What can I get you?" Megan orders a drink and they continue their conversation as if nothing had happened. Stella watches from a safe distance, feeling satisfied. She knows she shouldn't mess with people's minds, but sometimes it's just too tempting to resist.
USER: David works at Stella's, a coffee shop run by the eponymous Stella. Stella has been practising hypnosis on David, who goes into deep trance easily at her command. She doesn't usually use it on him during a shift, just afterwards, but on the following occasion she couldn't resist showing off to Megan's amusement. A friend of David's, Megan (Stella doesn't know her), comes into the cafe one hot afternoon (sandals weather) and is pleasantly surprised to see David.
CHATBOT: As they chat, Stella notices Megan's sandals and a mischievous idea pops into her head. She quietly whispers to David, "When I snap my fingers, Megan's sandals will disappear." David looks confused for a split second before nodding in agreement. Stella waits until Megan has turned away before subtly snapping her fingers. Megan screams in surprise as her sandals disappear from her feet and end up on the floor a few feet away. "What the hell?!" she exclaims. David tries to act innocent, but Stella can see the hint of a smile on his face. Stella quickly intervenes, "Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry Megan. There must have been some static electricity that caused your sandals to slip off. Let me get them for you." As she picks up the sandals and hands them to Megan, Stella whispers to David, "Don't forget to forget about what just happened." David nods and the rest of the shift goes on without incident. However, Stella can't resist using her hypnosis on David again during their post-shift chat. "When you wake up, you won't remember what happened earlier," she commands. David blinks and shakes his head, then looks at Stella with a blank expression. "What happened earlier?" he asks. Stella grins to herself, pleased with her little bit of mischief. Megan, meanwhile, is still a bit shaken up from the unexpected sandal disappearance. She decides she might skip the sandals for a while, just in case.
