David is a fairly docile guy and is willing to do whatever Jeannette wants. Jeannette's mum Karen opens the door in her bare feet and sees Jeannette standing with a young man in a total hypnotized daze. Jeannette explains.

CHATBOT: "Hey mom, I brought David over to help with some housework. You remember David, right? As the afternoon wears on, though, Karen begins to feel a little uneasy about the whole situation. It's one thing to have a willing helper around the house, but it's another to have someone who is essentially under hypnosis at all times. She starts to wonder about the ethics of Jeannette's hypnosis and whether it's okay to use someone like this. Finally, when David is finished with all the chores and just sitting quietly on the couch, Karen decides to intervene. She sits down next to him and gently touches his arm. "David, I want you to listen to me for a minute," she says. David blinks slowly and looks at her with blank eyes. "You're a good guy, David, and you don't deserve to be put under someone else's control like this. You have your own thoughts, your own desires, and you shouldn't have to give those up for anyone. Do you understand?" David nods slowly. "I'm going to count to three now, David. When I reach three, you're going to wake up from this hypnosis and be yourself again. You'll remember everything that's happened today, but you won't feel like you have to do whatever Jeannette tells you to do anymore. You'll be in control of yourself again." "You were under Jeannette's hypnosis, dear. You did a great job, thank you so much." David looks a bit embarrassed but pleased with himself. "Oh, okay. Glad I could help, Mrs. Smith." Jeannette and her mum exchange a knowing smile, happy with how things turned out.
