HATTORI (exasperated) Why is the door locked? I have to deliver his present. Shinzo, Kemumaki's cat, comes running towards Hattori. HATTORI (looking at Shinzo) Hey, Shinzo. What happened? Why are you running? SHINZO (having a hard time breathing) Kemumaki is in trouble! HATTORI (alarmed) What? Where is he? SHINZO (pointing to a nearby hill) He went up the hill to get a Christmas tree, and he hasn't come back. HATTORI (to Shinzo) Take me to him. CUT TO: EXT. HILL - DAY Hattori finds Kemumaki nearly unconscious, lying on the ground covered in snow. HATTORI (agitated) Kemumaki, wake up! What happened? KEMUMAKI (weakly) I couldn't find the perfect tree, and I got lost in the cold. HATTORI (picking him up) Don't worry, I'll take you home. Hattori carries Kemumaki down the hill into his home and places him by the fireplace. CUT TO: INT. KEMUMAKON RESIDENCE - DAY Hattori warms up Kemumaki's body by sticking his chest up close to the fireplace. HATTORI (to Kemumaki) You'll be okay. Just rest here by the fire. KEMUMAKI (feebly) Thank you, Hattori. You saved my life. Hattori hands him a glass of hot chocolate. HATTORI (looking at him) Promise me you'll never go out in the cold alone again. KEMUMAKI (smiling) I promise. CUT TO: EXT. SHINZO TOWN - DAY Hattori comes back to the town, eagerly looking for the other kids to give away his gifts. HATTORI (to the children) Merry Christmas, kids! I have brought gifts for everyone. The children surround Hattori, elated, and thanked him for spreading the Christmas joy.
