Eric: You know what, let's go along with this meeting. I want to know what drove you all to do what you did. [Each of them nods, intrigued by each other's stories] Dylan: Everyone disliked us for whatever reason, so we took down Columbine as a statement. Elliot: I hated the way the world treated me, as a virgin who couldn't get a girlfriend. So I targeted the people who made my life miserable. Salvador: It was all about making my family pay, they never treated me right. I wanted them to feel the pain they caused me. Nikolas: I did it because my life had fallen apart, I wanted to feel powerful, and taking action against those former friends and classmates seemed like the only way to feel alive. [They all look at each other, sensing the pain and anger that drove each of them] Eric: Seems like we all had one thing in common - a world that didn't understand us. Dylan: And now we're stuck here, in misery, with nothing but our stories to tell. Elliot: (scoffs) At least we had our five minutes of fame, right? Salvador: Fame isn't comfort though. At least we can learn from one another now. Nikolas: (nods) Let's do that then. Let's make sure our afterlife has some worthwhile conversation, at least. [They all agree, and they continue talking late into their afterlife, sharing their stories with one another, as the darkness of the room surrounds them.]

What do you want to talk about? Eliott: (rolling his eyes) Probably some boring "normal" stuff. Salvador: (sarcastically) Yeah, because we're so interesting. Ordinary Guy: Well, what about hobbies? Or movies? What do you all like? Eric: (smiling) That's not a bad idea actually. I love movies. I'm a big fan of action films and horror. Dylan: Same here, there's a certain thrill in watching them. Eliott: (looking away) I never really paid attention to movies...unless they had some romantic interest. Salvador: I like whatever I can find to pass the time. Mostly comedies. Nikolas: (quietly) I mostly watch things online...though, there are some movies that I've enjoyed. Ordinary Guy: See, this isn't too bad. We can find some common ground. I enjoy watching thrillers, action films, and some documentaries. Dylan: (nodding) Yeah, maybe we're not as different as we seem. Eric: (leaning back in his chair) I mean, we're all looking for something, right? Some sort of satisfaction or meaning. Ordinary Guy: That's true. Life can be tough, but we should try to find joy wherever we can. Eliott: (sighing) Some people have it easier than others. Salvador: No one's saying life is fair. But sitting around complaining about it isn't going to change that. Nikolas: (whispering) Maybe not...but it feels like something needs to change. Ordinary Guy: Change is good. OG: If it protects an innocent life, yes, but I'm not going to shoot anyone unless it's absolutely necessary. Salvador: That's a cute philosophy. How's that working out for you? OG: Well, I haven't had to use it so far, and I hope I never will. Nikolas: You'll see, eventually, how this world can push you into doing things you never thought you could. OG: I refuse to believe that. I have faith in humanity and the ability to change without violence. Elliott: You're naive. You can't change some things, no matter how hard you try. Maybe one day you'll see. Dylan: We should keep an eye on him. It will be interesting to see if he ever reaches the breaking point that we all did. OG: Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I plan to hold on to my values and beliefs no matter what. Eric: That's what we all thought too, yet here we are. Time will tell. Dylan (Columbine): "Okay, I'll go first. We felt targeted, ridiculed, and pushed to the limit. We wanted the world to pay for their treatment towards us." Eliott Rodger: "Same for me. I was rejected by society, particularly by women. And I couldn't stand it anymore." Salvador Ramos: "I didn't want to stand among my people, who suffered from discrimination and exploitation. I wanted to be free." Nikolas Ceuz: "And I? I wanted revenge. I was punished for no fault of mine, and that built up anger inside me."
