Her parents, King and Queen Toadstool, raise her to be a kind-hearted and compassionate ruler. 1980 - Bowser's continuous expansion and control over the Mushroom Kingdom lead to the discovery of the magical Warp Pipes. These pipes allow travel between the various realms of the Mushroom Kingdom and beyond. 1982 - Mario and Luigi, two Italian-American plumbers from Brooklyn, New York, discover a mysterious Warp Pipe hidden beneath their city. The brothers are unintentionally transported to the Mushroom Kingdom and catch their first glimpse of this new fantastical world. 1983 - Mario and Luigi return to the Mushroom Kingdom, feeling an inexplicable pull to the magical land. They begin exploring the many regions and aiding the local Toad population, quickly becoming known as heroes throughout the kingdom. 1984 - Bowser discovers the existence of Mario and Luigi and begins to see them as a major threat to his domination. He concocts a plan to kidnap the newly coronated Princess Peach Toadstool, believing her to be the key to controlling the entire kingdom. June 1985 - Bowser enacts his plan and successfully captures Princess Peach. He spreads the word that anyone who attempts to rescue her will face his wrath. July 1985 - Mario and Luigi receive news of Princess Peach's kidnapping and embark on their most significant quest yet - rescuing the Princess and restoring peace to the Mushroom Kingdom. September 1985 - The original Super Mario Bros. game is released, chronicling the tale of Mario and Luigi's daring journey through the Mushroom Kingdom to save Princess Peach and defeat the evil Bowser.
