Jane, Sam, and Aaron find seats near the front. PRINCIPAL (standing on the stage) Good afternoon, students. Today, we have a special announcement. We have a new student joining our school, and her name is Lux. The students whisper and turn to each other in excitement. Lux, accompanied by a teacher, enters the stage. She quietly observes the crowd around her, her eyes roaming but never settling. PRINCIPAL Lux has single-sided deafness, selective mutism, and autism.
