Sweat beads on his forehead as he quickly assesses the situation, typing swiftly on a nearby terminal. JACK (intense and focused) I can re-route the energy back into the main grid. It'll overload, but it's our only chance! Jack frantically keys in commands, his fingers a blur on the console. His eyes dart between the screen and the reactor core. LANA (teary-eyed) Jack, don't do this. We can find another way! JACK (resolute) There isn't enough time, Lana! Trust me, I can save us! With a final command, the reactor crackles and sparks, energy surging through the lab, causing the walls to tremble. Jack stumbles backward, shielding his face from the blinding light. INT.
