He could understand the consequences and also keep himself from making contact with people, as he didn't want to learn about all the grim fates that awaited them. But despite his efforts to keep his abilities secret, word had spread throughout the school's grapevine that Arnold possessed a peculiar talent. One day, during his routine walk through the school hallway, Arnold stopped dead in his tracks as his eyes fell upon his best friend, Isaac Walker. Isaac was a jovial young man, always the life of the party. He was Arnold's confidant and close friend since elementary school. Unlike Arnold, Isaac was popular in school and was a star athlete, but their shared love for fantasy novels and video games ensured their deep bond. Arnold couldn't help but feel a sense of foreboding as he hesitantly approached Isaac. Sensing Arnold's uneasiness, Isaac cheerfully clapped his friend on the back and asked, "What's with the long face, buddy?"
