Lately, I've been pondering about the First Contact War and how things might have turned out if the conflict had lasted longer. It was a pretty brief conflict after all, but what if things had escalated? I think we could have seen some serious consequences for not just humanity, but also the Turians and even the Citadel Council. Thoughts? AdAstraFan: While it might sound interesting, I think a longer war between humans and Turians would have mostly hurt us. Even though we're great at adapting, our tech and military infrastructure were relatively limited compared to them at that time. Fighting a protracted war could've stalled our introduction to the galactic community, and considering how self-absorbed the Citadel races can be, I doubt they'd have intervened. While it might have been harder for us, a prolonged conflict could have also stressed the Turians and possibly fractured their rigid society. I think we could have eventually found common ground, but not without serious losses on both sides. However, while Council intervention might have helped minimize the damage, it could have also led to more restrictions on humanity's expansion and integration into the galactic community.
