CHATBOT: For many centuries, the rulers of the Combine sought knowledge from Oracles in their Incubation Chambers. Those seeking insight into the future of their endeavors paid in advance for the conception of an embryo that would be born as a prophet, trained and delivered to the Gate of the Overwatch for analysis. The psyches of these prophets were free to drift the astral plane while their physical forms remained in the shared world. The successors to the throne were those who carefully analyzed the insights of their authorized prophets and integrated their recommendations into their campaigns of diplomacy, warfare, or metaphysical advancement. All of this changed with the arrival of G-Man as Oracle. G-Man's insights appeared to mandate the course of events rather than merely forecast them. The dissimilar nature of his prophecies led the Advisors to blame him for the Combine's newfound conflicts with fresh adversaries. They demanded that he be removed and replaced with a more experienced substitute. However, G-Man issued a premonition of the destruction of the Incubation Chambers. Terrified of the Oracle's vision, the Advisors retreated to their chambers of counsel, determined to evade G-Man's detection. The Overwatch, however, recognized the practical value of an Oracle such as G-Man and chose to use him as a weapon to broaden its empire. Over time, it demoted its obstructive counselors and partnered with the charismatic G-Man, despite possessing only rudimentary knowledge about his abilities. The final conflict came when the Last Overwatch attempted to receive a prophecy from G-Man regarding victory in its assault against Unsated Vortigaunt's realm. G-Man declined to provide a definitive prediction. The vortigaunts were ill-prepared, cut off, and land-bound, making them ideal candidates for defeat. Despite this, the battle caused a quantum decoherence event that shattered reality and its soldiers into separate quantum states. The universe transformed into a hall of mirrors, with infinite reflections stemming from the collapse of the wave function at every instance.

Regardless, the Emperor remained confident in its military's capabilities. The Vortigaunts were confined to land, ill-equipped, and cut off from all possible allies. It took "It could go either way" to mean that with tactical prowess on its side, there was little danger entailed in its course of action. CHATBOT: From the start, "G-Man" delivered unconventional premonitions that seemed to influence events. The Advisors blamed him for unexpected conflicts and tried to replace him, but he predicted the ruin of the Incubation Chambers and the downfall of the Advisors. The Combine had long sought Oracles from the Incubation Chambers, paying in advance for prophetic insights used for diplomacy, warfare, and metaphysical purposes.
CHATBOT: From the beginning, it became apparent that "G-Man" possessed unusual prophetic abilities. Unlike mere forecasters, his insights seemed to shape the events themselves. As he offered unsolicited guidance, the Combine found themselves caught up in unexpected conflicts with previously unknown adversaries. But rather than embrace this unconventional seer, the Advisors saw him as a threat to their authority. They accused him of causing trouble and demanded his removal. They even asked the Nihilants to take back "G-Man" and replace him with someone more reliable. Even so, "G-Man" continued to deliver dire premonitions. He predicted that the Incubation Chambers would meet their downfall, a vision that eventually came true in the form of a disastrous avalanche. As his reputation grew, the Advisors became increasingly terrified of his power. They'd long relied on psychic insights from the prophets of the Incubation Chambers, paying in advance for their services. These seers were psychically linked through astral umbilici to the world they prophesized about, using impassioned language in transmitting their insights. The Advisors used these prophecies for diplomatic negotiations and metaphysical enhancements of the Overwatch's military strength. In sum, "G-Man" was a significant departure from previous prophets. His insights seemed to have even greater weight than usual, influencing events in unpredictable ways. While the Advisors initially mistrusted him, he proved himself to be an invaluable source of prophetic guidance, ultimately predicting the downfall of the very society that had once sought to replace him.
