On the lower extreme of the negative planes, there are no beings or forms of physical reality at all, just the raw chaos of the universe. On the highest planes, both positive and negative, the reality becomes more alien and harder to understand. The concept of "life" becomes more abstract as the explorer ascends or descends through planes, resembling its abstract version. At the very top or the very bottom, life ceases to exist in any concrete form, and the explorer may find themselves in a reality without any life forms at all. The environment itself becomes stranger and more unreal, with incomprehensible architecture, impossible landscapes, and color schemes that defy any traditional understanding of physics or human perception. In conclusion, the backgrounds have both positive and negative planes that are equally dangerous and hostile, with life forms becoming stranger and less understandable as the explorer delves deeper into the maze. Regardless of whether it's a positive or negative plane, it becomes more abstract and harder to understand and survive the deeper one goes, offering explorers unbearable pain, ecstasy, and the ultimate knowledge.
