When the Qing armies under the Shunzi Emperor destroy the last remnants of the Nan Ming inside their conquered Chinese provinces, Fukumatsu 'helps' the Yongle Emperor of the Nan Ming to flee to Vietnam along with the bulk of the Chinese imperial army, the Ming government and the Ming loyalists still remaining in China. where they assemble their forces in numbers and overthrow the Vietnamese government, making Vietnam into a part of the Nan Ming. The Khmer and Laotian kingdoms are conquered and made into satellite states of the Nan Ming, while the Qing Empire takes a significant portion of the Nan Ming's territories in Southern China and finally achieves its goal of unifying most of China. During his time as Zhu Chenggong/Koxinga, Fukumatsu takes Chuang, Wen, Shi and Chai, ladies from prestigious noble families as his wives and has children with all of them, causing some of his followers in the Ming loyalist movement to refer to him as the true Emperor of the Ming dynasty due to his skill with the ladies and the fact that he seems to be a rather zealous follower of Sunni Islam, the secret religion of the Ming dynasty's ruling House of Zhu/Chu and their support base of the openly Muslim Hui of China's Ningxia's province. In reality, Fukumatsu is still a devoted follower of Japan's state Shinto religion and Buddhism and feels rather uncomfortable leading a jihad against the openly Muslim Manchus, but is somewhat open to Christianity due to his father Zheng Zhilong introducing him to Protestantism. With China now a tributary state of the Manchu-dominated Great Qing Empire under a Ming puppet King and the Ming dynasty's control over China effectively destroyed, Fukumatsu's mission is complete and he now wishes to return home to his beloved Japan. But when some of the Ming loyalists with him suggest they lead an assault to take back China from the Qing and restore the Ming dynasty, Fukumatsu knows he has to do something or his head will be next on the chopping block. To keep his followers' minds off the loss of their country, Fukumatsu as Zhu Chenggong/Koxinga leads a successful assault on the Dutch colonial settlements in Taiwan, driving out the Dutch East Trading Company and the Dutch settlers from the archipelago and establishing a forward base for the supposed reclamation of China from the Qing, which of course never happens as Fukumatsu is a Japanese volunteer for the Mongolian allies of the Manchurians/Qing turned unofficial sleeper agent for his home nation, Japan. To keep up with his image as a Ming dynasty/loyalist with a bit of privateering on the side, he takes the daughter of Antonius Hambroek, a Dutch missionary executed by an overzealous minion of Koxinga's during the Siege of Fort Zeelandia during the conquest of Taiwan, as a concubine after convincing his followers to spare her, but marries her sometime after the conquest of Taiwan due to his familiarity with Christianity. After Koxinga's Ming loyalist forces manage to conquer all of Taiwan as well as the Pengu islands, they decide to settle down in Taiwan and watch the situation in China. The Dongdu Wangchao [Eastern Capital Kingdom] is established as the local government and administration of Taiwan as well as a Ming government in exile in 1654, with Fukumatsu as Zhu Chenggong/Koxinga becoming de-facto King of the nation due to his Prince of Yanping, and most controversially, Crown Regent of the Ming dynasty. By the time of Fukumatsu's death in 1672, his actions have lead to a second Three Kingdoms period in East Asian history, with the Great Qing Empire ruling over most of China, East Turkestan, Tibet and Mongolia from its homeland in Manchuria being the dominant land power in the China region, the Nan Ming in Indochina holding on to parts of Southern China and slowly becoming the Viet Nam Quoc [Empire of Viet Nam] with the House of Zhu, the Ming dynasty's imperial family slowly becoming the Ngyuen dynasty of Vietnam, and the Tokugawa shogunate ruling over the Japanese home islands, the Korean peninsula, Taiwan and the newly claimed Kurils and Sahlakin Island ruling the East Asian and South East Asian waves.
