USER: Write an interesting, lengthy and well-rounded chapter for a starting chapter of a Naruto fanfic with plenty of dialogue and exposition, in which a 12-year-old, post-Sasuke Retrieval Arc Naruto thinks about his life so far, as he boards a steamship that is planning to leave the Elemental Nations for the outside world. Naruto was banished from Konoha due to the fears of the civilian council and became a famed rouge nin, before training under a mercenary organization and becoming a good merc. Naruto became good at the life of a ronin and a mercenary but decided to leave the Elemental Nations for good because of the toll it was taking on his young wind. The story should end with Naruto sneaking on the ship and successfully hiding himself from the passengers and the crew, just as the ship leaves port.

Having just returned from the emotionally draining Sasuke Retrieval Arc, even his ever-lit 'Will of Fire' felt somewhat dimmed. He felt the weight of the world on his shoulders, but could no longer count on the support from the village he thought would always stand by him. Banishment from Konoha hit Naruto harder than he ever expected. The civilian council's fear of the Nine-Tails Kurama within him had driven their decision to exile him, and as a result, he found refuge as a rogue ninja. His days once filled with friendship and laughter had been replaced with cold, quiet nights and mercenary contracts. Naruto had become what the world saw him as; something to be afraid of - something they could use for their own purposes. A bitter smile graced the blonde boy's lips as he recalled his time with Sasuke, Sakura, and their wise sensei, Kakashi. They had been his team, his family, and yet even they were no longer within reach. His heart ached, the pain of being shunned by Sakura and vanquishing Sasuke still too fresh in his mind. As Naruto stood by the dock, wrapped in his new cloak; black as the night, emblazoned with the insignia of his new life, a thought crossed his mind.
