How can we let this darkness take over? They both shudder as a gust of cold wind rolls over the field, increasing the intensity of the eerie atmosphere. Suddenly, they hear a haunting voice in their heads. MIND FLAYER (Settling, hissing) I can give you what you seek. Surrender yourselves to me, and you will know true evil. As they try to escape, the smoke thickens, surrounding them. They cough and struggle to breathe. The Mind Flayer materializes out the smoke, its tentacles reaching out, searching for its next victims. MIND FLAYER (distorted, echoing voice) Your fear is delicious fuel for my power. I am growing stronger. NANCY (defiantly) You won't win! We'll keep fighting, just like we did before. The Mind Flayer laughs as its tentacles start to encircle Jonathan and Nancy. MIND FLAYER Did you really think you would be safe from me? I've been waiting for the right moment. The tentacles pierce through their flesh, injecting a dark substance that spreads across their bodies. Their eyes glaze over and transform into a soulless black. MIND FLAYER You are mine, now. The room returns to normal, leaving Jonathan and Nancy standing motionless, their faces expressionless. NANCY (monotone) What do you want us to do? MIND FLAYER (satisfied) You will serve as my spies. MAX Even if we know where they are, we have no idea how to break the possession. It's not like we can just reach into their heads and yank the Mind Flayer out. LUCAS We need backup. It won't be easy dealing with a possessed Nancy and Jonathan. STEVE We need Hopper. He and El fought against the Mind Flayer before. WILL I can try to contact my mom too. She's desperate to find Jonathan and won't give up on him. EL (pensive) The more allies we have, the better. We'll need to work together to defeat the Mind Flayer and save Nancy and Jonathan.
