However, the arrival of Kurt, with his distinct features and unparalleled abilities, forced them back into the fold. In 1995, when Kurt was 15, the village and the Shadowbinder sect came under threat from a rival faction known as the "Lightbearers," who believed that the only way to purify the world was to eradicate all shadow, effectively aiming to destroy the balance the Shadowbinders protected.
