The ancient being has taken possession of one of the Ultra Beasts and is wreaking havoc throughout Alola. It's up to you to stop the Ultra Beast and free it from Cthulhu's control before it destroys everything in its path. To defeat the Ultra Beast, you must first gather a team of powerful Pokemon and learn the ways of Eldritch magic. You must also face off against the cult's hierarchy, including the High Priest who is in direct communication with Cthulhu. Only by defeating them can you hope to exorcise Cthulhu's influence from the Ultra Beast and restore peace to Alola. In the end, you will emerge victorious, but altered by the Eldritch magic you have learned. The world will never be the same, but at least it is safe from the ancient horrors that lurk beyond the veil.
