CHATBOT: Chapter 11: Life's Simple Pleasures Mary awoke the next day with the memories of her passionate encounter with Void still fresh and haunting in her mind. As she stirred, she found that Void was not beside her - instead, she could see him outside, tending to a colorful and unusual garden filled with vibrant, strange vegetables. Void looked up and caught her eye as if the tension surrounding their failure to save Thomas the night before was non-existent. "Good morning, my dear," he called out to her with a warm smile. "Would you like to join me in my humble work?" Mary hesitated but eventually went to join Void in the garden. As she walked beside him, admiring the curious plants, she asked, "Do you not have to continue your duties as the Grim Reaper? What about helping innocent souls in their final moments?" Void chuckled softly, seemingly amused by her concern. "I do, in fact, have the ability to create more copies of myself to handle multiple tasks. Each of these copies shares the same consciousness - I am here learning to be a farmer, but I am also on another plane guiding innocents to Heaven." Mary couldn't help but marvel at the complexities of this ancient creature. Here he was doing something as mundane as gardening, and yet, he still held the power of life and death. "Do you really enjoy this?" she asked, stealing a glance at the remarkable lemur. "Living such a simple life?" Void paused, his eyes taking on a thoughtful gleam. "In truth, I do," he replied, his hands gently tending to the plants. "There is beauty in simplicity, and there is comfort in understanding that there is so much more to life than darkness and sorrow." Mary couldn't help but feel drawn to the version of Void she saw here. In the moments of shared passion, there was an undeniable connection, but to see this side of him - his love for life and nature - it caused her to reflect on her feelings more deeply. As they continued to work together in the garden, Mary knew that there were still bridges to cross in the journey to save Thomas. But she also felt that the newfound connection with Void was worth exploring further, and perhaps, in finding balance and understanding in their love, they would also find a way to bring Thomas back. In the days to come, more attempts to save Thomas would follow, each more trying and sensual than the last.
