A single light bulb flickers overhead as we see a sinister figure setting up a camera and tripod. The camera is turned on, and we hear the whir of the tape as it begins to record. SIMON: (V.O.) Hello and welcome, my friends to my latest experiment. I want to see what happens when we combine the unsettling world of analog horror with the innocent and lovable world of SpongeBob SquarePants. Simon, the man behind the camera, turns toward a small TV set on the floor. The screen is flickering with static. Simon picks up the TV and sets it onto a table. Suddenly, the TV in the Krusty Krab turned on by itself and static filled the screen. The gang was confused, but then the static cleared, and they saw something entirely inappropriate for their beloved cartoon show. The show had been corrupted, and they could see creepy images of distorted faces, blood, and gore. It was as if the analog horror and weirdcore had invaded SpongeBob's world. The gang couldn't believe what they were seeing, and they were scared. The show was no longer their beloved cartoon, but a nightmare that they couldn't escape. Everywhere they turned, there was more darkness and horror, and no way out. As they tried to escape the corrupted Bikini Bottom, the gang encountered their friends and neighbors.
