USER: (David's boss at the cafe, Stella, sometimes uses hypnosis on him) Stella asks David if he'll stay behind for a little while after the cafe closes that evening. She doesn't say why, but David figures why not.
CHATBOT: As soon as the last customer leaves, Stella motions for David to come to her office. Once they're inside, she turns to him and says in a soothing voice, "David, I want you to relax and just listen to my voice. You feel calm and peaceful, and you're willing to do anything I suggest." David feels a wave of relaxation wash over him as Stella continues to speak to him in a low, hypnotic voice. She suggests that he empty the cash register and give her all of the money. Without hesitating, David obeys her command and hands over all the cash. "Now, David," Stella says, smiling devilishly. "I want you to forget that this ever happened. You won't remember giving me the money or how it happened." David nods, feeling a sense of confusion and disorientation wash over him. He knows something is not right but he can't quite put his finger on it. Stella snaps her fingers and David suddenly snaps out of the trance. "Thanks for staying back, David," Stella says, as if nothing out of the ordinary has happened. "You can go now. See you tomorrow." Feeling bewildered and uneasy, David heads home, his mind reeling from the strange encounter. Deep down, he knows that something very strange is going on and he's unsure if he wants to find out what it is.

After a few minutes, Stella comes into the back and walks up to him. "David, I was wondering if you'd be interested in trying something new," she says, her voice low and hypnotic. David's heart begins to race. He's always been a little nervous around Stella, especially when she uses her hypnotic powers on him. "What do you mean?" he asks, feeling his body start to relax. "Just a little experiment," Stella says, leaning in close. "I want to see how deep I can put you under. Are you willing to try?" David nods slowly. He's intrigued, even though part of him is scared. He trusts Stella, though - she's always been good to him, and he knows she would never do anything to hurt him. "Good," Stella murmurs. "Just relax, David. Let your mind go blank and focus on my voice." David closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. He feels Stella's hand on his shoulder and her voice in his ear, soothing and hypnotic. He doesn't remember what she says, only that her words fill his mind and body with a deep sense of calm and relaxation. When he opens his eyes again, the women are gone and the cafe is dark and empty. Stella is beside him, smiling kindly. "How do you feel, David?" David blinks and shakes his head, trying to clear the fog from his brain. "I...I feel good," he says slowly. "Relaxed. Comfortable." Stella nods. "That's good. I think we're making progress." David isn't sure what she means, exactly, but he trusts her. He knows that whatever experiments they're doing are for a good cause. He's willing to let Stella lead him down whatever path she thinks is best. He just hopes he won't regret it in the end.

He tries to focus on his work, but his mind keeps racing. Later that day, when Stella comes to check on him, he can't help but ask. "What happened last night, Stella? What did you do to me?" Stella looks at him solemnly. "I'm sorry, David. I shouldn't have involved you in this. It's a long story, and I can't tell you everything. But just know that I'm trying to help someone, and I thought you might be able to assist me. I didn't mean to cause you any harm." David isn't sure what to believe. He wants to trust Stella, but he can't shake the feeling that something is off. He decides to keep an eye on her, just in case. Over the coming weeks, he watches as Stella continues her experiments. She seems more and more obsessed, spending long hours in her office and growing increasingly distant from everyone around her. David doesn't know what to do. He wants to help her, but he's also worried about the consequences. He doesn't know how deep this rabbit hole goes, or what kind of trouble both he and Stella might be getting into. All he can do is wait, and hope that his instincts are right.

She confronts him about his behavior, and he finally breaks down, telling her about the flashes of memory that he has been experiencing. Stella's expression doesn't change as David pours out his fears and suspicions, She simply nods and pats his hand in a soothing gesture. "I knew you'd figure it out eventually, darling," she coos, "but don't worry. You're safe with me." David shivers with revulsion as realization dawns on him. Stella, his beloved boss and friend, was manipulating him with hypnosis. He doesn't know how long it's been going on, or what she's done to him in his trance-like state. All he knows is that he needs to get away from her as quickly as possible.
