David is a fairly docile guy and is willing to do whatever Jeannette wants. In a hypnotized daze, he knocks, and Jeannette's mum opens the door in her bare feet. Jeannette explains.

"You're a good guy, David, and you don't deserve to be put under someone else's control like this. You have your own thoughts, your own desires, and you shouldn't have to give those up for anyone. Do you understand?" David nods slowly. "I'm going to count to three now, David. When I reach three, you're going to wake up from this hypnosis and be yourself again.
