He looks up from his food to see Teddie walking over. TEDDIE Hey, man. I'm Teddie. Wanted to apologize for earlier. Those guys... they can be something else. YU (somewhat relieved) Thanks. I'm Yu, by the way. I appreciate the apology. TEDDIE No problem. If you ever need someone to talk to or hang out with, let me know. Yu nods, finally feeling a small sense of hope at his new school. FADE OUT.

A crowd of students parts around him, and he overhears whispers of his recent reputation-building confrontation with Yosuke and Kanji. Kanji and Yosuke notice Yu and approach him with smug smirks on their faces. KANJI Hey, look who it is - the pathetic loser who's trying to make friends. YOSUKE What's the matter, Yu? Can't make friends 'cause you're too busy being a mama's boy? The people around Yu murmur and laugh. Yu clenches his fists, trying to restrain his temper. YU (angry but composed) Leave my family out of this. Yosuke and Kanji, sensing an opportunity to further humiliate Yu, continue their teasing with even crueler jeers. YOSUKE Aw, did we hurt your feelings? Poor baby. KANJI Your family must be real trash if they raised someone like you. The crowd around them grows louder, and their taunts sting even deeper. Yu's self-control finally breaks, and he lunges at Kanji and Yosuke, landing a powerful punch on each of their faces. Yosuke and Kanji stagger backward, grabbing their injured cheeks in shock and pain. KANJI (indignant) What the hell, man?! YOSUKE (dazed) You're gonna regret that, loser! The crowd gasps and murmurs, but their previous mockery is now mixed with reluctant admiration. Yu, breathing heavily, stands his ground and stares down the two bullies, who are now struggling to maintain their poise and composure in the face of this unexpected defiance. YU (firm and determined) I warned you to leave my family out of this. A chastened Yosuke and Kanji exchange uncertain glances, clearly unnerved. They hesitantly back away from Yu. YOSUKE This isn't over! Kanji and Yosuke stumble away, leaving Yu standing tall amidst the whispering crowd. Teddie emerges from the mass of students, an impressed smile on his face. TEDDIE That was amazing, Yu. I think you taught them a lesson they won't forget anytime soon. YU (lightly panting, still angry) I had to stand up for myself and my family. Teddie nods, patting Yu on the back. TEDDIE You've got guts, man. And it looks like you've earned some respect around here.
