And yet, starkly contrasting the impossibly beautiful nature of his surroundings, he beheld a sight so harrowing, it shook him to the very core of his being. There, in the heart of the city, a group of wretched and ragged slaves, their eyes full of despair, were locked in cages, each more pitiful and destitute than the next. Their prison was as foul as their captors, the relentless slavers, whose hearts held no pity or humanity. At once, Aladdin was struck with an unquenchable yearning to save these poor souls, a fierce determination that a son of the Sultan himself would be proud of. Aladdin thought to himself, with every fiber of his body and mind: There is no freedom more precious than that which is snatched from the jaws of tyranny. And with such knowledge, he resolved to seek the aid of his singular companion. "I beseech thee, O Genie of the Lamp," Aladdin implored in sincere anguish, his voice trembling. "Help me free these poor and wretched souls from the vile clutches of these monstrous kidnappers!" "Nay, my liege, my powers are not omnipotent," replied the Genie, his voice tinged with sorrow, for he was as moved by the shocking sight as Aladdin was. "Nevertheless, if thou wouldst have me aid thee, I will lend thee every ounce of power I possess in the service of this cause. I warn you, dear lad, this deed shall not be without consequence or danger. But for your heart is brave and your cause is just, I shall accompany you." Thus, with the Genie's aid, Aladdin proceeded to the miserable enclosure where the unfortunate slaves were held captive. They moved under the shadow of night, guided by the baleful silence that only darkness can afford. The slaves, upon seeing Aladdin in their vicinity, grew suddenly still, their quietness and stillness a cloak against the hope that this stranger may be the harbinger of their freedom. Their eyes, dull and lifeless with captivity, yet ignited with hope the likes of which Aladdin had seen before. "Aladdin," the Genie cautioned softly in a tone laden with care, "observe that the slavers will not hesitate to harm these poor souls as a reprisal."
