Title Card: The Angry Video Game Nerd - Ben 10: Omniverse [The Nerd stands in front of his iconic game shelf] Nerd: Hey, it's time for another trip down memory lane with the Angry Video Game Nerd. Today, we're diving headfirst into a game based on the popular animated series, Ben 10. Now, Ben 10: Omniverse was released in 2012 for various platforms, and let me tell you, this one puts the "omni" in omni-bad! [Cut to footage of the game] Nerd: Just look at this abomination! Right off the bat, the graphics are so lackluster, it's like they came straight out of a Game Boy Color! You know, if this was a Game Boy Color game, I'd still say the graphics were garbage, but at least it would be somewhat forgivable. [Cut to the Nerd playing the game] Nerd: Let's talk about the controls. They're clunky, unresponsive, and just plain frustrating to deal with. Moving Ben around feels like trying to maneuver a rusty tank on ice. And don't even get me started on the platforming sections. They're an exercise in pure agony! I swear, it's like the developers wanted me to have a mental breakdown. [Cut to footage of different levels] Nerd: Now, let's talk about the level design. Or should I say, lack thereof? The levels feel uninspired, repetitive, and just downright boring. It's like they took a cookie-cutter approach and slapped the same background with different colors throughout the game. Not to mention the countless glitches scattered all over the place. I found myself falling through solid objects, getting stuck in walls, and experiencing more graphical mishaps than an NES game in the '80s. [Cut to the Nerd fighting enemies in the game] Nerd: And what's up with the combat? It's so mind-numbingly monotonous. You basically just mash buttons and hope for the best. There's no strategy, no skill involved. It's just button-mashing at its worst. And don't even get me started on the enemy AI. They attack with all the intelligence of a lobotomized gnat. [Cut to the Nerd's final thoughts] Nerd: Ben 10: Omniverse is a prime example of a cash grab tie-in game that fails to capture the essence of the source material. It's a disgrace to both the Ben 10 franchise and the video game industry as a whole. The developers should be ashamed of themselves for producing such an unpolished mess. If you're a Ben 10 fan, do yourself a favor and stay away from this game. If you're a video game fan in general, avoid it like the plague. This game gets my strongest recommendation: avoid playing it at all costs! [The Nerd dramatically throws the game case off-screen] Nerd: I'm the Angry Video Game Nerd, and this game has got me angrier than a Bee-Gees fan at a heavy metal concert! [The Nerd walks off, tossing his controller aside] [Fade to black] Title Card: Angry Video Game Nerd [End of Review]
