INT. ICE CREAM PARLOR - NIGHT The ice cream parlor is closed for the night, chairs turned upside down, and dim lights flicker above. Steve has just finished mopping the floor and celebrates by sliding across the wet surface like a rockstar, ending up near the counter where Robin sits. Robin watches Steve with amusement, shaking her head at his antics. She gets up from her chair and walks over to him. ROBIN You're such a dork, Steve. STEVE (grinning) Yeah but you like hanging out with me, so what does that make you? ROBIN (smiling) Hm, a lover of great company? Steve's grin softens as he gazes at Robin, who smiles back shyly. They hold the stare a moment longer before Steve breaks the silence. STEVE I've got an idea. Why don't we make one last ice cream sundae for ourselves? You know, before we close up for the night? Robin thinks for a moment before nodding her head. ROBIN Sure, it's been a rough day. We deserve a treat. They move to the counter and start gathering ice cream scoops and topping choices. STEVE What do you want in your sundae? ROBIN Cherries on top. You? STEVE Ooof, that's going to be a tough decision. Definitely chocolate syrup, though. As they continue making their sundaes, Steve musters up the courage to say what's been on his mind. STEVE Hey, Robin? ROBIN Yeah, Steve? STEVE I've been meaning to talk to you about something... Robin looks concerned and stops what she's doing. ROBIN What is it? Steve rubs the back of his neck nervously. STEVE I've really enjoyed our time together here, and especially after everything we've been through lately, I can't help but feel closer to you... And I was wondering if... um, if you'd like to go out with me sometime? Robin's expression softens as she smiles at Steve. ROBIN Steve, of course. I'd like that. They continue making their sundaes, their smiles stretching from ear to ear as they realize the potential of a new beginning together. FADE OUT.
