CHATBOT
INT. JANE'S LIVING ROOM - DAY Jane, Sam, and Aaron are sitting on the couch, chatting and laughing. Suddenly, Sam notices something strange. SAM (whispering) Hey Jane, doesn't it seem like Aaron's mom acts really childish? Jane looks at Aaron, who seems to be unaware of their conversation. JANE (confused) Yeah, you're right. I mean, she's always been like that, but lately, it's been even more noticeable. SAM (slightly concerned) Do you think something happened to her? Jane shrugs, contemplating the possibilities. JANE I'm not sure. We should ask Aaron about it. Maybe he knows something. Jane turns to Aaron, who is engrossed in a video game. JANE Aaron, hey! Can we talk for a sec? Aaron presses pause and turns to face the girls, a bit startled by their sudden attention. AARON (slightly nervous) Uh, sure. What's up? Sam senses Aaron's unease and decides to be gentle with her inquiry. SAM (smiling) Well, we've noticed that your mom acts pretty young, like a child. Has anything happened to her? Aaron's expression saddens as he looks down, deliberating over how to respond. Finally, he sighs. AARON (long pause) My mom has a mental condition. It's called "childlike mind." Jane and Sam exchange concerned glances. JANE What does that mean exactly? AARON She has trouble functioning as an adult mentally. It's like her mind is stuck at a younger age. Doctors say it's a developmental disability. Sam reaches out to hold Aaron's hand, offering comfort and support. SAM I'm really sorry to hear that, Aaron. How does it affect your family? AARON Well, my dad takes care of most things. He handles all the bills, groceries, and important decisions. My mom needs constant supervision, just like taking care of a child. Jane and Sam listen intently, realizing the difficulties Aaron's family faces. JANE That must be really tough for you and your dad, Aaron. How do you manage? AARON Sometimes, it's challenging. But we have support from therapists and community programs to help my mom. And friends like you who understand mean the world to me. Sam smiles warmly, squeezing Aaron's hand a little tighter. SAM We're always here for you, Aaron. If you ever need someone to talk to or just hang out, you know where to find us, right? Aaron's grateful smile shines brightly, feeling comforted by the support of his friends. AARON Thank you, guys. It means a lot to have friends like you who care. The three friends exchange heartfelt smiles, knowing that they will be there for each other through thick and thin. FADE OUT.
