INT. JANE'S BEDROOM - DAY Jane and Sam, both 14 years old, are lounging on Jane's bed, chatting and giggling. JANE So, Sam, I feel like I know everything about you except one thing. Do you have any pets? SAM (smiling) Well, actually, I do! I have a pet turtle named Sheldon. Jane's eyes widen in excitement. JANE No way! That's so cool! I've always wanted a pet, but my mom is not a fan of animals in the house. SAM (laughing) Yeah, I can understand that. Turtles are pretty easy to take care of, though. And Sheldon is just the cutest thing ever! Jane scoots closer to Sam, her curiosity piqued. JANE Tell me everything about Sheldon. What kind of turtle is he? How long have you had him? SAM Sheldon is a red-eared slider. I got him 2 years ago on my birthday. He was so tiny, just the size of a quarter. Jane gasps, imagining the tiny turtle. JANE Aww! How did you end up getting him? SAM (laughing) Well, it's a funny story. I was at a local pet store with my parents, and they were just browsing. Suddenly, I spotted this little turtle all by himself in a tank. I instantly fell in love with him, and we ended up bringing him home that day. Jane leans back, her head resting on her hands. JANE That's adorable. I'm suddenly jealous of Sheldon's existence. SAM (smiling) Hey, you can always come over and spend time with him. Sheldon loves to meet new people. Jane's face lights up with excitement. JANE Really? That would be amazing! I'd love to meet your little Sheldon. SAM (grinning) Consider it a date then! We'll have a fantastic time with Sheldon, and you'll be jealous no more. They exchange a playful high-five, both looking forward to the turtle-filled adventure that awaits them. FADE OUT.
