I want you to act as a screenwriter. Melinda Lakatos is beautiful, elegant, confident and resourceful young woman. Basil Bends is imposing, cynical, sarcastic, upfront and skillful doctor with a taste for macabre and inappropriate jokes. Write long, original, interesting, imaginative and artistic film scene. In it, Melinda is being treated in hospital. She suffered a terrible accident, sustaining severe injuries to her lower body. Her right leg has open fractures of femur, tibia and fibula, with bones protruding through the skin. Her right leg is mangled and holding merely by a muscle flap. Despite her severe injuries, suffering from terrible pain, Melinda is conscious and aware, even attempting to joke and feeling some embarrassment when her torn clothes are cut off. Melinda even attempts to refuse any pain killers, afraid of becoming a drug addict. The scene effectively showcases both Melinda's suffering as well as willpower. As doctors suggest that amputation is necessary. Dr. Bends boastfully objects. He claims that he can save Melinda's legs. While the other doctors protest, Dr. Bends mocks their skills, claiming he has already done similar feats before and can do them again. Melinda decides to trust him.

INT. HOSPITAL ROOM - DAY Melinda Lakatos lies on a hospital bed, her face etched with pain, as doctors and nurses bustle around her. Tubes, monitors, and medical equipment are scattered throughout the room, amplifying the urgency of her situation. MELINDA (weakly) Is it bad? DOCTOR 1 (with concern) Melinda, you've suffered extensive damage to your lower body. Your right leg has multiple fractures--femur, tibia, and fibula are all affected. Melinda tries to shift her focus away from the excruciating pain. MELINDA (smiling) Well, at least I won't have to worry about finding a new pair of heels anytime soon. Her attempt at a joke dances with embarrassment, knowing how ridiculous she must sound in this dire circumstance. The doctors exchange looks, admiring her resilience amidst suffering. DOCTOR 2 (to Nurse) Prepare for surgery. We may need to amputate the leg immediately, given the severity of the damage. MELINDA (whispering) No. I don't want that. There must be another way. Dr. Basil Bends, portrayed as a towering figure with an air of confidence and sarcasm, enters the room, interrupting the bleak atmosphere. DR. BENDS (smirking) Listen here, folks. I could fix this mess blindfolded while juggling knives and reciting Shakespearean insults. Amputation is for weaklings. The other doctors exchange disapproving glances, unimpressed by Dr. Bends' audacity. DOCTOR 1 (slightly offended) Dr. Bends, we appreciate your expertise, but this situation calls for practicality. Amputation might be the only option. DR. BENDS (mocking) Practicality? How dull. I've threaded the needle through the eye of a mosquito. I've danced with death and led him astray. You all just lack imagination. While the doctors continue to argue, Melinda gazes at Dr. Bends with a glimmer of hope in her eyes. MELINDA (sincerely) Dr. Bends, if you truly believe there's a chance to save my legs, I'll trust you. Dr. Bends' confident demeanor softens, his boastful facade giving way to a rare glimpse of genuine concern. DR. BENDS (seriously) Melinda, it won't be easy, and we'll have to push the boundaries of what's been done before. But I promise you this, I won't stop until we've exhausted every possibility. The room falls into a brief moment of silence before Dr. Bends leads the team into action, taking charge of the situation. The scene transitions into a montage of intense surgeries, as Dr. Bends skillfully operates on Melinda, pushing the boundaries of medical knowledge, and challenging the conventional limits of what is deemed possible. As the montage comes to a close, Melinda's lower body is wrapped in complex bandages, and she lies there, drained but adamant. MELINDA (whispering) Thank you, doctor... I knew you could do it. Dr. Bends smiles gently, genuinely pleased with the outcome. His witty remarks replaced by a newfound humility. DR. BENDS (palms facing upwards) Only a doctor can mend, but it's your willpower that shattered every bone of doubt. You did this, Melinda. The scene ends with Melinda basking in her victory over adversity, a testament to her strength and Dr. Bends' unconventional but life-changing expertise.
