"I feel safe and comfortable with you." She lifted her head slightly to press a tender kiss to his lips, then settled back down with a contented sigh. "I don't know what I would do without you," she whispered. "You make everything feel better."

Max giggled softly, feeling comforted by John's words and embrace. "It's definitely been hella crazy lately," she replied using her typical slang. "First the snow, then the eclipse... it's like the universe is trying to tell us something." She hugged him back tightly, feeling grateful for the warmth and safety of his arms around her. "And I'm glad I can keep you sane, John," she said with a smile. "You keep me grounded too. It's like we're meant to be together, you know?"
