CHATBOT
INT. SCHOOL HALLWAY - DAY Jane (14), Sam (14), Aaron (14), and Molly-Rose (12) walk down the hallway, chatting and laughing. JANE Hey guys, what's up? Any plans after school? SAM Not sure yet. Maybe we can hit the arcade? AARON Sounds good to me. I need to take my mind off Mrs. Thompson's history test. MOLLY-ROSE I'm in! Arcade's always fun. As they walk, an announcement blares from the speakers. PRINCIPAL (V.O) Attention, students! Please gather in the auditorium for an important announcement. I repeat, all students to the auditorium. JANE What's going on? They usually don't call everyone like this. SAM I have no idea, but it sounds serious. Let's go find out. They make their way to the auditorium, joining the rest of their classmates. The room buzzes with anticipation. PRINCIPAL (V.O) Quiet down, everyone. We have a special announcement today. We have a new student joining our school. Jane, Sam, Aaron, and Molly-Rose exchange curious glances. PRINCIPAL (V.O) Please welcome LARK, our new non-binary student. L-A-R-K. Jane and her friends exchange surprised looks. JANE That's an interesting way to spell their name, all in lowercase. AARON You're right. But hey, everyone deserves the freedom to express themselves. MOLLY-ROSE Exactly! It's pretty cool that they're non-binary. We should all make them feel welcome. SAM Definitely. Let's make sure Lark feels accepted here. They applaud along with their classmates as Lark walks onto the stage, waving hesitantly. PRINCIPAL (V.O) Lark will be joining Ms. Johnson's class tomorrow. Let's give them a warm welcome. The auditorium erupts into cheers and clapping. JANE Looks like we've got a new friend to make, guys. AARON Absolutely. We'll show Lark what a great group we are. They all smile at each other, excited to meet Lark and show them around their school. FADE OUT.
