Another win for the team! KANJI Hell yeah, no one can touch us! TEDDIE That's right, and don't you forget it! The Angels, led by Chie, Yukiko, Naoto, and Rise, sashay down the hall, drawing the attention of everyone around them. Chie smirks as she notices the boys. CHIE Well, well, well, if it isn't our champions. Nice job last night, boys. Rise leans in, popping her bubblegum loudly. RISE Like, yeah, gotta give credit where it's due. YUKIKO Honestly, without you guys crushing the competition, the boys' basketball team wouldn't stand a chance. NAOTO I must say, having a physically versatile team is a significant advantage. YOSUKE Damn right, babe. No way we'd let anyone take our title from us. Suddenly, the door opens, and a new transfer student, Yu, walks in. He's not wearing a jersey but has a strong and cool aura. Yosuke, Kanji, Teddie, and the Angels notice him instantly. YOSUKE Who the hell is this guy? Chie eyes Yu closely, a smirk forming on her face. CHIE New blood, huh? This should be interesting. Yu approaches the group with confidence, earning a few impressed looks. The girls exchange intrigued glances, and the boys size him up. YU Hey, I'm Yu. I just moved here from the city. YU I appreciate the welcoming committee, but I'm not really interested in being anyone's lackey. Yosuke narrows his eyes, looking Yu up and down. YOSUKE You got an attitude problem, buddy? In this school, popularity means everything. Yu smirks at Yosuke and shrugs nonchalantly. YU Well, I guess I'll just have to challenge you on the court. KANJI Are you saying you want to try out for the boys' basketball team? YU That's right. I didn't come here to play games. Teddie raises an eyebrow, intrigued by Yu's confidence. TEDDIE Interesting... We could always use some fresh talent. CHIE What say I make a little wager? If you can make the team, we invite you into our inner circle and grant our stamp of approval. What do you say? YU You've got yourself a deal. Chie smirks, victorious. The Angels exchange excited glances as the boys watch Yu with a mix of curiosity and respect. INT. GYMNASIUM - BASKETBALL COURT - AFTER SCHOOL The gym is packed with enthusiastic students there to watch the basketball practice. The basketball players, Yosuke, Kanji, Teddie, and a few others, are warming up on the court. Over in the bleachers, the Angels are sitting together, Chie in the center position. Rise is blowing bubblegum bubbles while Naoto and Yukiko chat about the latest gossip. They keep stealing glances at the players down on the court. CHIE (first smirking) This should be interesting. Let's see what he's got. YU (V.O.) You can count on it. The camera pans down to Yu standing confidently on the basketball court. He is dressed in basketball attire and meets Yosuke eye to eye. YOSUKE Let's make this simple: we'll do a one-on-one match. If you can score on me, you're in. YU You're on. The match begins with both boys showing incredible skill. The crowd cheers and whispers among themselves as Yu impressively gives Yosuke a run for his money on the court. KANJI, TEDDIE (to each other, impressed) This guy's not bad! Chie is getting more and more intrigued by Yu's prowess. CHIE (to the Angels) He's definitely got the skills. RISE Like, no kidding. Maybe he'll teach me a thing or two. YUKIKO He might just win this... NAOTO I never expected this level of competition. As the match reaches its climax, Yosuke and Yu are almost evenly matched. With a sudden burst of energy, Yu manages to score the winning point. The game is over, and the gymnasium explodes in cheers and applause. Yu turns and looks at Chie, smirking confidently. YU You said I needed luck, but I guess skill was all I needed. Chie, stunned and even more interested in Yu, opens her mouth to speak just as the Angels gather around her. RISE Like, wow! He really beat Yosuke! YUKIKO I can't believe it. NAOTO Indeed, he is certainly a skilled player. Yosuke, Teddie, and Kanji gather around Yu, clapping him on the back. YOSUKE Fine, you've proven yourself. Welcome to the team, man. KANJI Yeah, don't mess this up, got it? TEDDIE You've got potential, that's for sure. Chie and the Angels approach Yu, offering their respect and congratulations. CHIE Alright, you've proven yourself. Welcome to the inner circle. YU Thanks, but remember what I said earlier: I'm nobody's lackey. They all nod in agreement as they welcome Yu into their group. As they walk off together, Yu gives Chie a playful wink and she smirks back, somewhat charmed by his confidence and skills. And so, a new chapter begins for both Yu and the other characters. INT. YASOGAMI HIGH SCHOOL - ROOFTOP - LUNCHTIME The group is gathered on the rooftop eating lunch together. The atmosphere has shifted now that Yu has become an integral part of the group. YUKIKO So, Yu, what made you decide to move here to Inaba? YU I just needed a change of scenery. The city life could get a little boring, so I thought I'd test my luck somewhere new. KANJI Well, you've certainly made quite an impression here. Chie rolls her eyes playfully. CHIE Enough about him! Let's talk about the upcoming school festival. We need to make sure our class has the best event. NAOTO How about we do a mystery room? I could help in creating puzzles and clues. YOSUKE Yeah, something interactive would be great. We could even have a small prize for the winner. TEDDIE Or how about a flirting booth? You know, we could give some flirting advice, the ladies will love it! Rise giggles and chews her bubblegum. RISE Like, that sounds fun, but I think we should cater to a larger audience. YU What about a live performance? We can combine our talents and perform for the school. We have dancers, athletes, and plenty of charismatic personalities. Word is, Teddie's pretty creative! Chie and the rest look at Yu approvingly. They all start to nod and agree. CHIE That's actually not a bad idea at all. NAOTO Yes, a showcase of our various talents. I am sure it would be a hit. YOSUKE Alright, man, you just keep impressing us. We'll go with your idea. RISE Like, let's start practicing this week then! The group begins discussing their plans for the school festival and their newfound sense of camaraderie. As they laugh and plan together, it becomes clear that Yu has changed the dynamics of the group for the better. Chie watches Yu out of the corner of her eye, noticing that the once bratty and self-centered group has evolved into something more genuine and supportive.
