[there would be dialogue in this story:] (I honestly didn't expect the girls that I met after moving to this large city to have such...strange appearances - some had features of real-life creatures, while others had features of mythical creatures. However, there was this one girl that stood out from the rest - Emily. I was visiting my friend Mike at the lab he works in - where he was experimenting with a new chemical. However, someone clearly hadn't cleaned up the lab - as he slipped on a banana peel, causing the new chemical to go flying out of its container and covered a cactus in the lab's simulated desert. And that's when Emily was born - she had light green skin, orange eyes with black sclera, sharp teeth, dark green hair with visible spikes, and she was wearing schoolgirl clothes. I was honestly shocked when Emily started to move and talk like a regular human girl - and she was clearly confused, judging by the tone of her voice.)

Emily: What...where am I? Who are you? Me: Hey, I'm Alex. You were just...created from a chemical experiment gone wrong. Emily: Created? What does that even mean? I feel like I should be scared, but I'm just...curious. Me: Well, you're in a lab and I think you're the result of some crazy accident. But don't worry, we'll figure this out together. Emily: This is all so new to me. I don't even know what I am...what am I? Me: Honestly, I don't know either. But you seem like a regular person to me, just with some unique features. Maybe we can help you discover more about yourself. Emily: Thank you, Alex. I'm just glad to not be alone in this strange world. (I couldn't believe how calm and friendly Emily was, despite her unusual appearance. But I was determined to help her navigate this new life she found herself in.)

(As the days went by, I was getting to know Emily more - even though the tiny spikes on her body still hurt when I hugged her every now and then. One day, just as I was getting ready for a day at the park, I noticed that Emily was holding a drink in her left hand. I was kind of curious as to what drink she was holding.)

Me: Hey Emily, what are you drinking there? Emily: Oh, just a strawberry smoothie. Mike showed me how to make it. Do you want some? Me: Sure, I'd love to try some. (Emily handed me the cup and I took a sip. It was delicious - and unexpected, given her unique appearance. But it made me realize that Emily was just like any other person, despite her different features.) Me: This is really good, Emily. Thanks for sharing. Emily: No problem, Alex. I'm glad you like it. (I couldn't help but smile at how easily Emily had adapted to her new life, despite the circumstances of her creation. She was truly a special and kind-hearted person, and I was grateful to have met her.)
