In the shadows, a dark and sinister presence lurks. MIKE We need to figure out a way to stop the Mind Flayer before it takes control of anyone else. DUSTIN We've tried everything. How do we kill something like that? Eleven looks deep in thought, trying to come up with a solution. Suddenly, MAX and LUCAS' eyes roll back, and their bodies tense up. EL's eyes widen in horror. ELEVEN It's here! The Mind Flayer's taking them! The dark presence engulfs MAX and LUCAS - they stagger back, clutching their heads in pain, and then fall unconscious. INT. WHEELER'S BASEMENT - LATER MAX and LUCAS awaken from their possession, but something has changed. MAX has transformed into an elegant, poised, and theatric woman - every movement oozing sensual, sardonic energy. LUCAS has become a cold, calculated gentleman - his every motion carefully planned with MAX as his sole concern. MAX (looking around) Such a dull place, isn't it, my dear? LUCAS (cracking his neck) As you say, my love. He places a hand protectively on her shoulder. The rest of the gang stares at the pair, mouths agape. DUSTIN What just happened? WILL I think the Mind Flayer changed them. ELEVEN How do we fix them? MIKE We have to destroy the Flayer once and for all. If they're connected to it, maybe it'll break the spell. MAX (grinning) You honestly think you can defeat the Mind Flayer and free us? Such fools, you are. LUCAS (glares at the gang) If you dare to approach my beloved, I won't hesitate to put you in your graves. WILL Maybe... if we can reach the Max and Lucas we know - remind them who they are - we can break the Mind Flayer's control. ELEVEN (lowering her head) I hope you're right, Will. The kids gather around, ready to confront their possessed friends, MAX the prima donna lady and LUCAS, the overprotective gentleman. MIKE (to MAX and LUCAS) No matter how strong the darkness is, we're not giving up on you. Together, they will face the Mind Flayer and its sinister web of power.
