[told from Sayori's point of view, there would be dialogue in this story:] (I was a student enrolled in the School of Balance - since I was the only wizard ever born in this spiral-forsaken desert. As my sub-professor over in Wizard City - Arthur Westhersfield - said, Balance is a unique magic from Krokotopia - which is said spiral-forsaken desert I mentioned earlier. My *actual* professor is Alhazred - an old and prominent member of the Order of the Fang. Now, I've never been to Wizard City - I only heard about it from my fellow students, who all came from there. However, I just so happened to lean my most recent Balance spell - Hydra. To demonstrate how my new spell works, I was brought to Krokotopia's grand arena for a test-battle against the Jabberwock - a Fire-elemental wyrm-type enemy from Avalon, which was another location within the spiral. But before this, I was given a few "Extract Wyrm" cards for free - and these cards would be able to enhance my Hydra card to extract a Wyrm animus.)

As the sun blazed down on the golden sands of Krokotopia, I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nerves. Today was the day I would prove my mastery of the new spell I'd learned - the mighty Hydra - in a true test of mettle. The roaring crowd in the Grand Arena was just the icing on the cake. "Remember, Sayori," Alhazred's wise voice echoed in my head, "Balance is the key to mastering any challenge. Combine your intellect with the heart and courage, and you shall prevail." I nodded silently, knowing that I bore the responsibility of representing the School of Balance with honor. As I approached the center of the arena, the crowd's murmur swelled into a deafening cacophony. My gaze landed on the Jabberwock, its fiery eyes gazing back with an intelligence that belied its monstrous form. It was a fearsome opponent indeed, and not to be underestimated. Before stepping into the arena, Arthur Wethersfield pulled me aside, his eyes twinkling with enthusiasm behind his spectacles. "Think of the Extract Wyrm cards as a strategic edge, my dear Sayori," he quipped. "Use them wisely and the animus you gather will amplify your Hydra, tipping the scales in your favor." "I understand, Professor Wethersfield," I replied, my grip tightening around my wand. "Good luck, Sayori!" called one of my fellow students from Wizard City, their voice ringing clear above the throng. I stepped into the circle, the heat of the sands under my feet. My heart pounded in my ears - was it fear, or just the rush of potential victory coursing through my veins? The announcer's voice boomed, signalling the commencement of the battle. "Ladies and gentlemen, the moment you've all been waiting for! Our own prodigy of Balance, Sayori, versus the fiery terror from Avalon - the Jabberwock!" The wyrm let out an ear-splitting roar and the crowd erupted. I quickly scanned my deck and selected my precious Extract Wyrm card. It was time to cast. Drawing on my training, I waved my wand in an intricate pattern, focusing my mind on the spell. The card dissolved into a shimmering mist, and a likeness of the Jabberwock materialized before me, its essence ripe for the taking. "Now, Hydra! Show me your power!" I exclaimed, the anticipation crackling in the air. Three heads, each a different element, sprang forth from my wand - the culmination of all my hard work. Water, Fire, and Ice, they spiraled around each other with deadly grace, aiming straight for the Jabberwock. The beast bared its fangs, countering with a wave of flame, but it was no match. The Extract Wyrm card did its magic, and my Hydra was bolstered beyond my wildest dreams. Each head struck true, and a resounding clash echoed through the arena as the Jabberwock stumbled back, weakened. The crowd went wild, their cheers nearly as deafening as the Jabberwock's roars. My heart soared with pride - I had done it. "Precisely executed, Sayori!" shouted Alhazred from the sidelines, his hands raised in applause. With the Jabberwock weakened, I prepared for the final blow. Confidence surged within me - I was Sayori, a wizard of Balance, and this was my moment of triumph. In the heat of the Krokotopian sun, Balance reigned supreme.
