Everyone appeared to be completely desensitized, lacking any emotional response or reaction to the situation at hand. Their faces were blank, their voices devoid of any inflection, and their movements robotic. It was as if they had become numb to their surroundings, disconnected from the world around them. Nothing seemed to faze them, and they moved through life with a detached indifference. It was unsettling to witness, as though they had lost touch with their humanity and were merely going through the motions of existence.
