INT. JANE'S LIVING ROOM - DAY Jane, a curious and energetic 14-year-old girl, sits on the couch, flipping through a photo album. The doorbell RINGS and she excitedly jumps up to answer it. She opens the door to reveal Aaron Ling, her Taiwanese-Malaysian-American friend who lives next door. JANE Hey, Aaron! Come on in! AARON (smiling) Hey, Jane! What's up? Jane leads Aaron into the living room where they both settle on the couch. JANE (grinning) You know what, Aaron? I've been thinking about something lately. AARON (raising an eyebrow) And what would that be? JANE (teasingly) Well, for someone I've known for years, I don't even know your full name! Isn't that strange? Aaron chuckles, amused by Jane's curiosity. AARON (laughing) I guess you're right. My full name is Aaron Chun-Hua Ling. JANE (excitedly) Chun-Hua? That's a beautiful middle name! What does it mean? AARON (gratefully) Thank you, Jane. It means "spring flower." My mom is Taiwanese, and it's a name she chose for me. JANE (sincerely) That's really special, Aaron. Jane pauses for a moment, just beaming with excitement. JANE (waiting eagerly) So, spill the beans! What's your mom's first name? AARON (chuckling) Alright, Jane. Her name is Mei-Ling. JANE (repeating) Mei-Ling... What a lovely name. I can see where you get your wonderful personality from, then! AARON (blushing) Well, thanks. You know, my mom has always been an inspiration for me. She's an amazing woman. JANE (smiling) I don't doubt that for a second, Aaron. You're lucky to have such a caring and strong mother. They both share a heartfelt moment, appreciating the importance of family and culture. AARON (gratefully) I truly am, Jane. And you know what? I'm lucky to have you as my friend too. JANE (teasingly) I know, right? Who else will pester you with questions about your name? They both laugh, their bond growing stronger with each passing conversation. FADE OUT.
