INT. JANE'S LIVING ROOM - DAY Jane, a confident and adventurous 14-year-old, sits on the couch with her girlfriend Sam, also 14, and Aaron Ling, her friendly neighbor. They laugh and chat, enjoying each other's company. Jane notices something out of the corner of her eye and points. JANE Hey, Aaron! What's that? Is it a dog? Aaron, a slightly shy but kind-hearted teen, smiles and nods. AARON Yeah, it's my service dog, Buddy. He's pretty cool. Jane and Sam exchange curious glances, eager to know more. SAM Wow, that's awesome! What does Buddy do? Aaron kneels down beside Buddy and pats his head, his eyes filled with pride and gratitude. AARON Well, Buddy is trained to help me with my hearing loss. When there are sounds I can't hear, he alerts me by touching my leg or bringing me an object. He's like my ears on four paws! Jane's eyes widen in amazement. JANE That's incredible! How did you get Buddy? Aaron beams with excitement as he starts sharing his story. AARON Well, it all started when I got diagnosed with hearing loss a few years ago. I was feeling down, but then my parents suggested getting a service dog to help me navigate the world better. We contacted a program that trains and matches dogs with people who have disabilities, and voila, Buddy became a part of my life! Sam leans closer, captivated by the tale. SAM Must've been life-changing. Can we see him in action? Aaron nods, reaching for Buddy's leash. AARON Of course! Buddy, show them what you can do. Buddy, an adorable Golden Retriever, hops off the floor and walks towards Aaron. He nuzzles against Aaron's leg and then spins around, nudging Aaron's hand with his nose. Aaron grabs a set of keys from a nearby table and tosses them. Buddy swiftly catches the keys with his mouth and rushes back to Aaron, excitedly wagging his tail. JANE (cheerfully) That's so cool, Aaron! Buddy is not only a great friend, but he's also your helpful sidekick. Sam and Aaron burst into laughter, enjoying the playful comparison. SAM Absolutely, Jane! They make an unbeatable team, just like how we're an unbeatable trio! They share a group hug, their bond strengthened by the presence of Buddy. AARON (gratefully) I'm glad I have you both in my life. Buddy too!
