I want you to create interesting, imaginative and elaborate details for a work of fiction, set in 1950s. This rather grand estate was house of a noble family. During recent civil war it was largely burned down and destroyed. After the end of hostilities, the relatives of previous owners returned to it and were able to repair part of it, making it livable and restoring some luxury. Some parts are still under ongoing slow reconstruction, while most of the estate is currently still creepy and sinister ruins. Write long, detailed and imaginative description of layout and facilities of this estate.

The grand estate, known as Thornfield Manor, had once stood proudly against the rolling hills of the English countryside. Its once opulent facade had been marred by the ravages of war, leaving behind a haunting beauty that seemed to reverberate through its very foundations. The main entrance, an intricately carved wooden door, stood tall and imposing despite the countless scorch marks that traced their way up its weathered surface. As you stepped into the dilapidated foyer, the grandeur of Thornfield Manor began to reveal itself. To the right, a sweeping marble staircase, its once glistening steps laden with darkness and mystery, led elegantly to the upper levels of the house. To the left, an expansive parlor awaited, adorned with faded silk wallpaper, moth-eaten velvet drapes, and an exquisite crystal chandelier that hung precariously from the ceiling, its shattered pieces reflecting shards of melancholy light. Beyond the parlor, down a dimly lit corridor, lay the remnants of what was once a vibrant ballroom. Its worn wooden floor still bore the marks of countless waltzes, yet weeds and undergrowth had begun to creep through the cracks, like nature reclaiming what had been lost. Tattered curtains swayed eerily in the breeze, casting ghostly shadows upon the remains of a once-majestic stage, where orchestras had played melodies that once danced through the halls of Thornfield Manor. Meandering further into the estate, you would stumble across several partially restored living quarters. The drawing room, though a mere shell of its former glory, offered glimpses into the opulence of the past. The faint aroma of aged leather and the haunting echo of laughter seemed to linger within its chipped walls. Dust-covered portraits of regal ancestors stared down at you, their eyes holding secrets buried deep within the recesses of forgotten time. The partially reconstructed library, a testament to the family's love of knowledge, loomed ahead. Though shelves remained barren and books scattered across the floor, remnants of their vibrant spines whispered tales of scholars perusing literary treasures long before the war tore their world apart. A solitary armchair, threadbare yet regal, invited you to sit and immerse yourself in stories that had once transported the occupants of Thornfield Manor to realms far beyond their labyrinthine halls. Venturing outdoors, the estate's extensive gardens stretched out as far as the eye could see. Though overgrown and neglected, the remnants of topiary mazes and cobblestone pathways hinted at the once meticulous care taken to shape this idyllic haven. A dilapidated gazebo stood defiantly in the center, its twisted metal beams entwined with vines that snaked through the structure, as if in a futile attempt to reclaim it from ruins. On the eastern side of the estate lay the stables, once home to prized steeds that had carried lords and ladies across the sprawling estate. Now, the smell of damp hay and the soft whinnying of phantom horses mingled with the rustling of leaves, creating an eerie symphony that only added to the estate's haunted charm. Stalls that were once kept pristine stood in disarray, their doors ajar, as if waiting for equine companions that would never return. Thornfield Manor, a twisted blend of shattered grandeur and flickering hope, stood as a testament to a bygone era. Its residents, determined to restore its former glory despite the shadow of ruin that loomed over them, were both haunted by the past and driven by an unbreakable spirit. As one walked its dimly lit corridors and explored its crumbling rooms, the sensation of both wonder and unease intertwined, painting a portrait of a place where beauty collided with decay, and where the echoes of the past whispered secrets of lost grandeur.
