(In an abandoned woodland mansion...) [player]: "Jeez...this place has seen better days..." (Despite their sense of unease, [player] enters anyway. The place was totally abandoned - dusty, covered with cobwebs, and some of the wood was decayed.) [player]: "This place is just isn't like any woodland mansion I've seen so far." Female Vex: (giggling from upstairs) [player]: "Who's there?!" ([player] looks behind them to find the source of the giggles, but there's nobody there. Just then, they hear a female voice coming from upstairs.) Female Vex: "Hey...up here..." [player]: "Who are you? And what are you doing in this abandoned mansion?" ([player] cautiously makes their way upstairs, following the voice. The sound of giggles continues, growing louder as they get closer.) Female Vex: "You've finally found me...I've been waiting." ([player] enters a dilapidated bedroom, where a female vex hovers in the corner. The vex seems to have a bow in her hair, and her corpse is just by the bed. The corpse's bow was red in color, and her neck was tied around a rope - hanging from the ceiling, even though there isn't a speck of blood or anything related to a murder.) Female Vex: "Nice to finally meet you. My name is Sayori." [player]: "Sayori? But...you're a vex. How is that possible?" Sayori: "I know it's strange, but I haven't always been like this. I used to be a human, like you. In life, I attended a literature club with three other girls - Monika, Yuri, and Natsuki. We were all just normal high schoolers with a love for literature. But although I was usually cheerful and energetic, I

had been battling with depression for a long time. I always put on a facade and tried to hide my true feelings, but it was getting harder and harder to keep up the act. One day, Monika, the club president, realized what I was going through and suggested that I try an experimental technology that could transfer my consciousness into a virtual world. Desperate for a way out of my misery, I agreed without fully understanding the consequences. But something went wrong during the transfer. Instead of entering the virtual world, my consciousness got trapped within the body of a vex. I became this twisted creature, forever bound to roam this abandoned mansion. [player]: "That's... that's terrible. I'm so sorry that happened to you, Sayori. Is there anything I can do to help? How can we fix this?" Sayori: "I appreciate your concern, but I'm afraid there's no going back for me. I've accepted my fate and found some solace in this new existence. However, I have grown lonely over the years, longing for a connection with someone. That's why I reached out to you." [player]: "But why me? Why did you choose me to be the one to find you?" Sayori: "I sensed a kind and compassionate soul within you. I believe that you have the power to help others, even those like me who are trapped in a living nightmare. I wanted to meet you, to share my story, and perhaps find some comfort in knowing that I'm not completely forgotten." [player]: "I... I will do whatever I can to help you, Sayori. Even if I can't change what happened to you, I can at least be here for you, to listen and support you." Sayori: "Thank you, [player]. Your presence alone brings me a glimmer of hope. Maybe... maybe we can find a way to bring light into this darkness, even if just for a moment." And so, [player] and Sayori formed an unlikely bond in that abandoned woodland mansion. Together, they embarked on a journey of understanding, acceptance, and finding solace amidst the shadows.
