INT. SCHOOL HALLWAY - DAY Jane walks down the crowded hallway, textbooks in hand. She spots Sam chatting with Molly-Rose and Aaron. JANE Hey guys! What's up? SAM Jane! We were just talking about the announcement. Something big is happening. MOLLY-ROSE Yeah, the teachers made it sound super important. AARON It better be good. I was just getting into solving equations when they interrupted. JANE Oh, nooo. They couldn't have picked a worse time. SAM (laughing) You and your love for equations, Aaron. AARON What can I say? Math makes me happy. MOLLY-ROSE Alright, come on. Let's head to the auditorium before we miss it. They join the bustling crowd of students heading towards the auditorium. Inside, they search for seats towards the back. SAM (excitedly) I wonder what this announcement is about? Maybe the school's getting a new library, or a new cafeteria? JANE (smiling) Or maybe a surprise day off? AARON (rolling his eyes) As if! But seriously, it must be something big if they're gathering everyone here. The room starts buzzing with anticipation as the PRINCIPAL steps onto the stage, ready to address the school. PRINCIPAL (gesturing for silence) Good afternoon, students. I hope you're all as excited as I am for this special announcement. The students respond with a mix of whispers and hushed cheers. SAM (stifling her excitement) I can't believe they're dragging this out! Just tell us already! MOLLY-ROSE (teasingly) Patience, Sam. We'll find out soon enough. PRINCIPAL Now, without further ado, I'd like to introduce you all to a new student joining our school--Marcy! The crowd erupts into applause, as a NEW GIRL steps onto the stage. She waves shyly, looking slightly overwhelmed. JANE (excitedly) She seems nice! I hope she fits right in. SAM (slightly overcome) Look at her, Jane. I think she's even more nervous than I was on my first day. MOLLY-ROSE Maybe we could go say hi to her after the assembly and show her around. What do you guys think? AARON Absolutely!
