My first love was Chihaya's mother. I was in the fifth grade and had just transferred to Chihaya's school. It was a small rural town and everyone knew each other. I was nervous and didn't know anyone, but on my first day, I saw her. Chihaya's mother. She was beautiful and kind. She was always helping out at school events and had a smile that could light up the room. I found myself drawn to her and would always volunteer to help out just to be near her. I remember one time we were setting up for the school festival and I was struggling to carry a heavy box. Chihaya's mother came over and offered to help me. I was over the moon. She was so close to me, her perfume filling my nose and her hand on my shoulder. It was a simple gesture, but it made my heart race. As the school year went on, I couldn't help but think about her constantly. I would doodle her name in my notebook during class and daydream about confessing my love to her. But of course, I never did. She was married and I was just a silly little kid with a crush. Plus, I didn't want to ruin my chances of being able to help out at school events and be near her.
