INT. STAR COURT MALL - SCOOOPS AHOY - NIGHT Steve and Dustin are frantically searching for a way to defeat the Mind Flayer that has infiltrated Hawkins. STEVE We need to find out what the hell is going on and why it wants Robin. DUSTIN Well, it's not going to possess her willingly. We need a plan. The rest of the party - Lucas, Mike, Max, and Nancy - are huddled by the entrance, keeping watch for any signs of danger. ROBIN (V.O) Maybe I can help. Everyone jumps, startled by Robin's voice. She emerges from behind the Slurpee machine in the corner. DUSTIN Robin! Are you okay? ROBIN If it wants to take one of us to get information, why not let it be me? STEVE Absolutely not! That thing is psycho! ROBIN Hear me out, it possesses me and finds out what we know. In the meantime, you'll all come up with a plan to expel it from my body. If we give it what it wants, it might leave us alone for a bit. MIKE She's onto something. We could use that time to come up with a defense against it. LUCAS But what if you can't get rid of it once it's inside you? What if it kills you? ROBIN Then one victim is better than all of us. I have nothing to lose. Everyone looks at her with a mix of shock and admiration. STEVE You could die. ROBIN Or I could survive and help bring it down. DUSTIN There's no other way? Robin sighs, but her face is resolute. ROBIN I don't see any other way out. We have to try. They all stare at each other for a moment, hesitation hanging heavy in the air. MAX Okay, we're with you. But as soon as anything goes wrong, we'll be right there. ROBIN I know you will. Robin clenches her fist, takes a deep breath, and steps into the open. ROBIN (CONT'D) Alright, Mind Flayer - you want me? I'm ready. A deafening silence fills the room as everyone waits with bated breath. Then, the mall starts shuddering, and an eerie darkness gathers overhead. The Mind Flayer comes into sight, its tendrils extending towards Robin. She closes her eyes, accepting its possession, as the group watches helplessly. CUT TO BLACK.
