In an alternate universe where the Axis powers emerged victorious from World War II, German officer Karl Muller found himself in a bleak and desolate world. Amidst the rubble and ruins, he met a young man named Johann, a delicate and ethereal creature who captured his heart. Johann was sick with a mysterious illness, and Karl dedicated himself to caring for him. He brought him medicines from the black market, stole fresh fruit from abandoned orchards, and held him close during the long, cold nights. "Do you think we'll ever be free from this suffering, Karl?" Johann whispered one evening, his voice barely a breath. Karl stroked his lover's hair, a single tear slipping down his cheek. "I don't know, my love. But we will face it together, until the end." As the days passed, Johann's condition worsened, and Karl could see the light fading from his lover's eyes. Desperate to save him, he sought out a rogue doctor who whispered of forbidden treatments that could prolong Johann's life. "I will do anything to save him," Karl declared, clutching Johann's frail hand. The treatments were agonizing, pushing Johann to the brink of death and back again. But through it all, Karl remained by his side, whispering words of love and encouragement. "I can't bear to see you suffer like this," Karl confessed, tears streaming down his face. Johann smiled weakly, his hand reaching out to caress Karl's cheek. "You have given me more love and joy than I ever thought possible. I am grateful for every moment we have shared." And so, in a world where darkness reigned and hope was a distant memory, Karl and Johann found solace in each other's arms. Together, they faced the cruel hand fate had dealt them, clinging to each other until the very end.
